Suggested Design Process
To start a new Design in Quick Pole, the suggested steps to follow are as follows:
- Define Structure locations on the Work Plan. This can be done by adding poles manually to the Design using Drag and Drop in the Design Editor's Plan View, or via data entry or file import via the Coordinates Editor.
- Connect the Structures together to define Spans. This is done in the Design Editor's Plan View. A "Make Connection" feature is available to help create spans.
- Update the poles to the correct length, species, class and set the Depth of Setting or Height Above Ground. You can launch the Structure window directly from the Design Editor.
- Place attachments on one Span at the appropriate heights. Copy span attachments to similar poles and adjusts heights/attachments as necessary. Repeat for each pole lead that has different attachments. Edits of a single span are done in the Span Editor. Copy/Paste of span attachments from one span to others is done in the Design Editor's Plan View. Edits of multiple spans at once are done in the Multi-Span Profile/Editor.
- Clone a copy of the Design with all field data up to date. This is done in the project's file window. Add attachments or make other changes to the cloned copy.
- Confirm Project Settings and other details. This is done in the Design Editor.
- Analyze Results
- Edit, suggest Make Ready changes, Analyze Results, repeat until satisfied. A "Make Ready Manager" feature is available for quality control of Make Ready recommendations.
- Document Design, print reports, etc.
