The main aspects to consider for code compliancy is structural analysis, clearance and separation tests. The last two items can be addressed via a clause by clause review, with a dependence on accurate sag calculations.


Structural Analysis ability is covered in various clauses, but needs to be evaluated for accuracy in a very in-depth manner. Due to differences in how certain codes address structural analysis items, this framework separates the analysis of a single structure from the analysis of multiple interconnected structures. Likewise the analysis of a single structure is broken down into several major analysis methods found in the codes covered in the Scope section. Load non-linearity, the ability of loads (wire tensions) to change as a result of structure deflection, is only addressed in a special multi-pole analysis section and is not considered in single pole analysis.
