QP Update 7.04.23 - GO95 Strength Factors

Unread postby Sonideft » Mon Jan 27, 2025 7:00 pm

This update includes a fix for some inaccurate Load and Strength factors for the GO95 standard.

It also includes User Interface and Report adjustments to provide more clarity to exactly what Load and Strength factor is being applied. For the NESC standard, both of these factors vary between Line Grades and whether Extreme weather events are being evaluated. Quick Pole will monitor each component through all Load Cases involved, and will report the worst scenario back based on %utilization (which changes based on load and strength factors). Some messages are generated for each pole to better describe the possible load and strength factors involved. The worst scenario message against each significant item (pole, guy, anchor) will now include note of the strength factor used. For each significant item, you can view the "Load Case Review log" in the Properties window beside the Plan View.

In case you were wondering, GO95 doesn't vary load or strength factors based on whether an Extreme weather event is involved. The NESC does. CSA Standards don't vary load factors for Extreme weather events. The only strength factors the CSA standard has right now are for guys, anchors and foundations.
