QP Update 7.02.22 - Draft French Language support
Posted: Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:54 am
In this update the French language is largely supported. A few areas remain, but it was felt that this version had significant value for French users regardless. The remaining areas will be addressed in upcoming incremental updates. None of these changes impact the ability for users with different languages to share Quick Pole project files.
Under Tools->Options->Quick Pole settings, first tab near the bottom, is a control to switch Quick Pole between English and French. You may not even need to do this as Quick Pole defaults to the language preference you set in your computer (Windows, MacOS, Linux).
While the User Interface for Quick Pole has been largely made multi-language, the Reports have not. Calculated values will be in the language of your choice, but various field labels, headers, etc. will not. That is a separate work effort for Sonideft.
Some French users will want their final reports to be fully in English. To do this, simply finalize you work in the language of your choice, reset the options to English, restart Quick Pole and then generate your reports.
Two small bug fixes are included in this update. One related to attaching wires to Pole Top Extensions (PTE) and one related to a failed tension loadcase (rare) on steel wires.
Work behind the scenes continues for composite, steel and aluminum pole support. Stay tuned and up to date.
