Quick Pole has just had a major upgrade to its Sags and Tensions calculations for Power Conductors and Communication messengers/strands. The results you will find match PLS-CADD and SAG-10 results very closely. You can also add additional wires at any time from various manufacturers that provide PLS-CADD compatible .wir files.
In addition to the over 1800 wires available on file (ACSR, AAAC,....OPGW, ADSS, Steel, Communication Service wires (copper & fibre), Power Service Wires...) you can define your own wires if what you need is not in the list.
Quick Pole supports Organizational sets of Sags & Tensions for any wire on file. Some, such as the Utility Standards Forum, are supported directly by Sonideft as a way of supporting the Industry. In these Organization Grouping of wires, the Installation Tension or % Sag is defined that is applicable to the Organization. This permits the same wires to be used in different ways by different Organizations. To support how Organizations typically apply these concepts, separate values can be entered for different span length ranges (4) such as service span, urban, rural. Quick Pole will select the most appropriate Organizational settings for each wire based on the ruling span length.
In addition to these changes, support has been added for Windows 7 and Java 7.
