QP Update 6.73.68

Unread postby Sonideft » Sun Jul 19, 2020 8:11 am

This update includes a couple of features that help designers in a couple of areas.

1) Quick Pole will now enforce the number of guy attachments permitted on an anchor of a certain type. If more guys are attached than the anchor (from a database) indicates it can handle, an error message will appear against the anchor. This may happen if you open an older design and analyse everything right away. The remedy will be to choose another anchor. In some cases you will find it necessary to copy an anchor from the Dataset into another and alter the number of guys permitted.

If you attempt to add an additional guy to an anchor beyond its limit, it will allow this but also popup a message box to let you know about the guy limit being exceeded. Lastly, when you edit an anchor, Quick Pole will show you only the list of available anchors that meet or exceed the number of guys currently attached.

2) When changing the Soil Class at a pole, Quick Pole will now ask you if you wish to update the Soil Class for the anchors attached to this pole. Anchors have varying strengths depending on the Soil Class they are assumed to be installed. Since anchors are typically very close to the structure they support, often you will want to use the same Soil Class for both the pole and anchor. This isn't always the case though, so Quick Pole will always ask you if this is what you want to do, prior to doing this for you.

3) The transformers in the Master Dataset have been updated (10KVA up to 75KVA) to ensure they reflect the dimensions and weights of the "newer" typical transformers that have higher efficiency. These transformers require a little more weight and size than their previous counterparts. This has no effect on existing projects unless you add or edit transformers from the Master Dataset.
